Y Jos\u00e9 estaba en Egipto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>Y muri\u00f3 Jos\u00e9, y todos sus hermanos, y toda aquella generaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>Y los hijos de Israel fructificaron y se multiplicaron,&nbsp;y fueron aumentados y fortalecidos en extremo, y se llen\u00f3 de ellos la tierra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>Entretanto, se levant\u00f3 sobre Egipto un nuevo rey que no conoc\u00eda a Jos\u00e9;&nbsp;y dijo a su pueblo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>He aqu\u00ed, el pueblo de los hijos de Israel es mayor y m\u00e1s fuerte que nosotros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>Ahora, pues, seamos sabios&nbsp;para con \u00e9l, para que no se multiplique, y acontezca que viniendo guerra, \u00e9l tambi\u00e9n se una a nuestros enemigos y pelee contra nosotros, y se vaya de la tierra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>Entonces pusieron sobre ellos comisarios de tributos que los molestasen con sus cargas; y edificaron para Fara\u00f3n las ciudades de almacenaje, Pit\u00f3n y Rames\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>Pero cuanto m\u00e1s los oprim\u00edan, tanto m\u00e1s se multiplicaban y crec\u00edan, de manera que los egipcios tem\u00edan a los hijos de Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>Y los egipcios hicieron servir a los hijos de Israel con dureza,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup>y amargaron su vida con dura servidumbre, en hacer barro y ladrillo, y en toda labor del campo y en todo su servicio, al cual los obligaban con rigor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>15&nbsp;<\/sup>Y habl\u00f3 el rey de Egipto a las parteras de las hebreas, una de las cuales se llamaba Sifra, y otra F\u00faa, y les dijo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>16&nbsp;<\/sup>Cuando asist\u00e1is a las hebreas en sus partos, y ve\u00e1is el sexo, si es hijo, matadlo; y si es hija, entonces viva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>17&nbsp;<\/sup>Pero las parteras temieron a Dios, y no hicieron como les mand\u00f3 el rey de Egipto, sino que preservaron la vida a los ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup>Y el rey de Egipto hizo llamar a las parteras y les dijo: \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 hab\u00e9is hecho esto, que hab\u00e9is preservado la vida a los ni\u00f1os?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup>Y las parteras respondieron a Fara\u00f3n: Porque las mujeres hebreas no son como las egipcias; pues son robustas, y dan a luz antes que la partera venga a ellas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup>Y Dios hizo bien a las parteras; y el pueblo se multiplic\u00f3 y se fortaleci\u00f3 en gran manera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>21&nbsp;<\/sup>Y por haber las parteras temido a Dios, \u00e9l prosper\u00f3 sus familias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup>Entonces Fara\u00f3n mand\u00f3 a todo su pueblo, diciendo: Echad al r\u00edo a todo hijo que nazca,&nbsp;y a toda hija preservad la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Versi\u00f3n Reina-Valera 1960 \u00a9 Sociedades B\u00edblicas en Am\u00e9rica Latina, 1960.
